I love music more than the equipment to play music with. I need to veer away from the audiophile persona from now on. I listen to almost all genres of music but my favorites are rock, blues, and jazz.
I decided to exchange the item and since they’re about the same price, Fiio K1 it is! Let’s begin. Since I didn’t like the sound signature they produced with my Grado SR80e (too treble heavy, even for me who is not treble sensitive). I originally purchased a pair of Grado G-Cushions from the store. Long story short, I went for the Fiio K1, and only by accident. But even then, I feel the need to add some amplification. With a DAP like the Fiio X1, they could be. Given their low impedance, you might think they’re easy to drive. With a smartphone, you need to get to more than 70% of the volume to at least get some needed impact. Needless to say, it’s still my favorite headphone.
Not that majority of my headphones need it, but one in particular need amplification – the JVC HA-RX700. After selling my Fiio E11k and my Fiio E12, I missed having a portable amp.
